In just 13 days the Spirit of Buffalo and her crew will finally shove off from the Frederick Douglas/Isaac Meyers Maritime Park in Baltimore, MD for the passage north to her new home: Buffalo! In the meantime, Rich and his father, Ric, are hard at work finishing the beautiful mahogany hatches, rewiring, fixing pumps and sprucing up in preparation for our first sailing season as Buffalo's premier tallship.
Back on the homefront, BUOE Foundation continues to move and shake with sponsorship proposals, grant applications, mass mailings, school bookings, meetings, events and fundraisers all in the works. We have a number of in-kind sponsorships already and with the growing buzz about our project we are sure to have many more supporters in the coming weeks.
